Spartans mistake-prone to the end in loss to Minnesota

OK, after simmering and sleeping on it, sure - the officials blew it for MSU by overturning the Rucker fumble recovery.

But, spotting 14 points to Minny before you could blink, the inability to push in for TDs and settle for field goals, horrible play-calling by OC Don Treadwell in the red zone, and the penalty at the end on the running into the kicker with 2 minutes left that could have given MSU the ball and a chance to play for a tie.... all are just too many mistakes to overcome. The free for all pass by Kirk Cousins at the end of the first half, when MSU was driving, and INT by Minnesota? The concussion to Larry Caper ending our running game?

All too much. The officials should be shot, sure, but we made plenty of mistakes on our own. Just an unfocused team without discipline. The wrong team showed up last night. I'm not giving Minnesota as much credit as I am Michigan State playing with its head halfway up its ass.

  1. I agree with your tempered comment. State should never have gotten themselves in the situation to begin with. Going in the wrong direction...
